What to expect

Folktales Rest is located in the suburb of Castletown on a block all of her own as our principal residence (which you will have the entire place to yourself). Conveniently located one street back from the beach and within walking distance to town. Folktales Rest is the first of her kind and the only tiny home this close to town.

Esperance is a small remote country town with world class beaches and the friendliest people. We are hands-off hosts however we take pride in the quality of your stay and always have a team member close by for support if needed- just let us know.

Please kindly note Folktales is not suited for children or pets with the design of the property and the nature of our delicate furnishings. Folktales also has stairs with a loft style master bedroom (not full standing height) that may not suit mobility restrictions.

  • Quality luxurious sleep is a high value to Folktales. We provide a posture plus sleepys queen mattress, microcloud topper for that elevated feel, 5 star hotel pillows and french flax linen bedding with bamboo/cotton sheets.

  • Folktales bathroom was inspired by old world luxuries. Folktales was able to obtain a lovely old 1800s medicine cabinet from Tasmania that sits over the end of the claw foot deep soak bath tub. Enjoy a bath and relax or take a nice hot shower.

    Folktales provides luxury towels, body wash and a hair dryer.

  • We provide all the basics for a lovely short stay. Folktales has a full functioning kitchen with 179L Fridge freezer, 2 stove gas cooker, small oven, stove top gooseneck kettle and big farm sink.

    Also provided are tea blends, hot chocolate and for a unique experience we provide a Chemex slow drip coffee maker (makes amazing coffee!) with of course ground organic coffee beans supplied for two.

  • Folktales comes prepared for comfort in all seasons. We have a mini roaring meg fire place from New Zealand and supply firewood, a split system air-conditioner for heating and cooling and a ceiling fan.

  • Check in is 3pm and check out by 11am.
